Talk about ‘Bang for Your Buck’! This little ’65 has all the options & features you would expect in cars priced well into the $30’s. This is the perfect car for you sunny day commuter or an incredible car to start your collection. You really can’t get a more iconic car for the money.

Painted in the highly prized Vintage Burgundy, this Mustang presents very well. The paint is approximately 20 years old, a true testament to the quality care this car was given. It of course is not perfect with some minor stone chips and imperfections. While not perfect, it easily presents nice enough for weekend shows and cruise ins. The body panels are straight and line up nicely. With no obvious rust repairs on the quarters, doors and fenders this is a solid car. There was minor repair done at the front floor pans where they meet the toe boards, a very typical area. The cowls look good and were even treated to a fresh coat of red oxide when the car was painted 20 years ago. The chrome and bright trim all show well.

 

Inside, the Rare Pony Interior is a Highly Desirable Option. It was restored 20 years ago and is showing some wear on the driver’s door panel and seat. Overall though, it still presents nicely with quality components and that true Pony Car feel.

 

This Mustang started out life well equipped with the optional A-Code 289 4-Barrel engine that made an impressive 225 Horsepower. The engine is reported to be the original and it wears the correct 1965 date coding. The engine has receipt documentation for the rebuild on which there is around 3k miles. The engine has Keith Black Pistons, Crower Cam (very mild), Edelbrock Performer Intake Manifold and Electronic Ignition. Backed up by a crisp shifting C4 Automatic Transmission that 289 has no issues breaking traction and feeling quite impressive.

 

The suspension was restored 10 years ago with the engine. It has been tastefully upgraded with a larger front sway bar and heavy duty shocks. These 2 items really make a difference in the cornering and confidence. The steering feels crisp & tight, not the numb feeling so common in these cars.

 

The wiring, a common problem in older cars has been replaced with a Painless system. The stereo system has been upgraded with an aftermarket CD player mounted under the dash while a factory radio fills the factory hole. The electrical systems all work nicely and it gives you the confidence to attend those shows 3 hours away.

 

This lucky Mustang wears the Factory Styled Steel Wheels wrapped in Hoosier Radials. The vintage white letters really give the car that classic look and are leagues better than the factory bias ply tires it came with.

 

The upgraded disc brakes give you that extra feeling of safety for long trips and highway road adventures that you're sure to have!
