This '67 sits in a great spot for the will-be builder. The body of the car is extremely solid for the breed. The engine has barely 300 miles on a complete rebuild. The options are among the most desirable including 4-Speed, 12-Bolt Posi, Power Steering and a full 4-Wheel Power Disc Brake system.
The body is quite straight & solid by the standards of the breed. The floors look very solid and original. The trunk pan has been cleaned, painted with rust inhibiting paint and top-coated with spatter paint. There is some pinholes in the trunk pan but nothing that would require a complete replacement. There is some rust around each rear wheel lip and the repair process was started on the drivers rear lower quarter. The package tray and outer deck behind the window looks very good for an original with no apparent rust bubbles or distorted seams.
Inside the interior has the rare bucket seats and 'Blinker-Tach'. Obviously there is some restoration to do but the hard to find parts are there. The door panels have just been replaced and look great. So whether you want to stay stock or go a custom pro touring look its still basically a blank canvas.
Under the hood the original 396 is long gone but the current mill is a VAST improvement over the original. The new set up is a 454 with Rectangle Port Cylinder Heads and a Factory Winter's Casting Aluminum Intake Manifold. The engine has a reported 300 miles on the rebuild and every indication supports this. The cam is healthy with a nice lope to the idle and the perfect Muscle Car note to Flow Master equipped exhaust. Plenty of torque but there are not enough miles on the engine to turn it up yet but it should be more than adequate.
The 4-Speed Muncie transmission works excellent with precise upshifts and downshifts. The clutch works excellent without too much effort.
The 12-Bolt Posi-Traction equipped differential works excellent. Feels like 3.55 gearing so its comfortable on the street or highway.
The brakes have been replaced with a full 4-Wheel Power Disc Brake conversion. Gone are the days of 'push-and-pray' braking. This car hauls down from speed quickly and confidently.
The steering has been converted to power using all new components including the steering box, pump and hoses. Steering is tight and precise.
The wiring was being upgraded with a kit from Painless wiring that uses modern fuses in a modern fuse block. The installation is not complete yet and needs the final wiring done. Currently the car works with a functioning starting/charging/lighting systems but will need final wiring for the in dash gauges including the tachometer. Again, the car functions and drives as-is, but the system will need completed.
