 Excellent restoration project or "Patina" driver. A running and driving car is always a good start when your looking at your next project. This Cougar is rather solid for it's age and would be a good candidate either way you look at it! This one appears to be all original as far as paint and interior, and after 52 years of use, still looks rather straight. Everything lines up well, however some dings are seen and the paint will obviously need some attention. Besides a few rock chips in the windshield, all the other glass is in good shape. The headlight doors do work, but the sequential taillights will need looked at. This was a vinyl roof car, but someone removed the vinyl and painted the top black which likely saved the roof on this old Cat!

The Interior has also seen better days, but most importantly is all there. New front seat upholstery, headliner, and dash pad would really bring it back to a driver quality interior. Carpet is aged, but not torn and is still usable. The radio is missing, but the center console is uncut so a factory style radio would slip right in. Seat belts are all present, and gauges all seem to work. Plenty of pictures of the Interior can be seen above.

The engine is a C-code 289ci and runs good. The transmission seems to shift through the gears ok and the brake hydraulics have been replaced and bleed with fresh fluid. Currently we consider this to be a parking lot driver and recommend a good look-over before any long driving distances. Last registered in 2012, this Cougar has sat for a few years but we brought it back to life.  Fuel tank has been flushed and carburetor was disassembled and cleaned also.

The Chassis is a good start for a restoration and is fairly solid. A few things to note is the right rear inner quarter panel, the right torque box, and the upper fender aprons do show beginning signs of rust. However, the floors and frame rails all look good! Everything has been pictured in detail, but be glad it's only the simple areas that need replaced. This would be perfect for a DIY individual looking to learn without getting in over your head.
