This is an incredible time capsule!!! Factory original cars get rarer everyday and finding cars like this just keeps getting harder. This car was purchased in super dry central Washington. The previous owner reported he bought the car in 1993 from the original owner. The car was then stored in doors since and started every 3 months. The license tabs on the car support this as does the nearly rust free condition.
The paint appears to be the original Rallye Green with plenty of nicks, chips and dings. There are several spots where the previous owner sprayed thin spots in the paint with red oxide primer. The only rust we could find was two small bubbles behind each rear tire. Being original paint there shouldn't be any surprises hiding behind repaints. There are no obvious signs of any previous collision damage. If you an untouched original GM body, this is about as close as you can get. I
The interior appears to be all original, with the exception of the headrests which are black. The original door panels, carpet, dash pad, seat upholstery all show wear. The headliner still presents surprisingly well. Obviously for a restoration these components would all be replaced but the components and trim are all present for a straight forward job.
The Original, Born-With, Numbers Matching 350 Cubic Inch V8 250 Horsepower 2 barrel engine is still in place and runs very well. With 14k showing on the odometer there has certainly been a roll over but with the stock equipment in place 114k would be the logical number. The engine fires up incredibly easy without valvetrain noise or excessive crank case pressure associated with a tired motor. The engine limiting cable is still in place as are the original exhaust manifold washers, exhaust heat riser, air cleaner, etc.
The transmission is a Turbo 350 3 speed automatic which is a huge upgrade over the powerglide unit. The transmission works properly driving it around our complex but without new tires we are not able to get out on the highway.
This one was optioned with factory Power Steering and it feels great with just the right amount of assist.
The rear springs are multi-leaf with a 10-bolt differential non-posi.
Currently the car is wearing 15" Rallye Wheels and comes with a set of 14" steel wheels with factory hub caps as well.
