This is a GORGEOUS '69 Camaro. It received a comprehensive restoration about 5 years ago seeing some street use which has done a good job shaking out the gremlins associated with a fresh car. This one fires up easily, performs crazy well, electrical systems work, drives easily down the road, just what you are looking for in a well sorted no worries cruiser. Just get in, check the fuel gauge and you are off for the adventure of your choosing.
The body is in great condition. For the restoration the car was stripped, new rear quarters installed and a gorgeous coat of Victory Red applied. The paint was laid down flat the polished to a mirror surface. The finish has a nice deep shine and really pops, especially in person. The chrome and bright trim were all re-plated, replaced or restored.
The interior looks proper and clean. Reproduction seat upholstery, carpet, door panels, etc all look and feel great.
Under the hood lives a very well built and appointed 396. Topping the engine is an HP Holley double pumper carburetor sitting atop an Edelbrock Performer RPM intake manifold. The headers are 1 3/4" breathing through 2 1/2" Flowmaster equipped exhaust. We didn't get cam specs but it is healthy. Performance wise, this is one of the '1%'. Most 396's have some decent low end but fizzle out as the tach crests 4,000 rpm. This one wakes up at 2800 rpm and goes crazy by 3500 making a big old smoking mess out of the BF Goodrich tires. The sound is purely intoxicating as well.
The Muncie M-21 Close Ration 4 Speed works excellent with smooth engagement and crisp shifts. The shifter has the lift for reverse function that works nicely.
The front manual disc brakes work excellent. Pedal effort is minimal and the car brakes straight and true.
The steering was just upgraded with a new steering box, pump and hoses. Steering is tight, crisp and responsive.
The 12-Bolt differential houses a Posi Traction unit and reported 3.55 gearing. The posi works excellent making short work of the big BFG Tires.
