This 1969 Chevy Caprice is a great driver and/or restoration candidate. Currently, we consider this to be a parking lot driver but it actually seems to run and drive quite well. We recently pulled her out of her slumber and she cleaned up good, but some maintenance and a thorough inspection is recommended before any long drives. Equipped with Factory Power Steering and Power Brakes, this Caprice is a breeze to drive.
The Body Looks good from a distance and all the body panels line up well, however up close you can see some bubbling and a few pinholes. The Vinyl Top is showing it's age and just starting to show some cracking, but underneath you can see substantial bubbling starting to make it's way to the surface. The Trunk is very large and still holds what we believe to be the original spare tire. The Trunk floor is also showing some pinhole's but is still rather solid and fully usable. We do believe the Caprice has had a repaint back to it's original color of Olympic Gold.
The Interior is the highly desirable black vinyl bucket seats w/ console option and it does have the classic "horseshoe" shifter. It appears to have been re-done at some point, but currently the driver seat bottom does have a tear. Something you don't see everyday is the rear window fan defroster which is hidden behind the spare tire. General wear is seen throughout the Interior but it is still very presentable and usable for a driver.
The Engine is a late 70's 350ci V8 (Block ID# 14016379) and runs great and the transmission seems to shift good. This unit is equipped with A/C but currently does not work, although all the components seem to be intact. The Chassis seems to be rather solid with only some light surface rust seen. Plenty of pictures were taken of the chassis, frame and rear quarter drops, etc to show the condition. The Rims are the factory 15" Rallye wheels with Polished hub caps and trim rings with all matching White Stripe 215/70 Tires all with good tread remaining.
Make no mistake, we are selling this as a running/driving project car. The Caprice seems to run/drive good, however some maintenance work and a thorough inspection should be done before much driving. We have taken the time to well document the vehicle inside and out via pictures to best show it's true condition.
