This Bronco is one of the most solid and well built units you will find. Hailing from sunny & dry Wyoming it as survived very well. This one was the subject of a huge investment of time and funds. When it comes to options, nearly all the fun boxes have been checked once or twice!
The body is perhaps the most impressive item on this Bronco. It has survived with super solid floor pans, door posts, quarter panels and doors. Panel alignment is good though the hood has the typical Bronco cracks that have been repaired so for a repaint a new hood would be the best choice. Right now though, the patina looks great and this one gets a ton of attention on the street.
The engine is a roller cam 5.0 unit that was rebuilt. This was a mild build for torque. The engine runs excellent and has plenty of power. The fuel injection system uses all factory Ford components so should anything go wrong, replacement parts are common and serviced by nearly any mechanic.
The transmission is a NV4500 heavy duty 5 speed. These are the same units used in late model 3/4 ton pickups so they can easily handle anything you can throw at them in a Bronco. The transfer case has been upgraded with an Atlas unit with twin stick control. The Atlas shifts much easier than the factory Dana 20. The combination NV 5-Speed and the Atlas with all the conversion components is about a $10k set up.
The suspension system is equally impressive. With a mild suspension lift and a 2" body lift there is room under the hood for the Fuel Injected intake, no hood scoop required. The factory radius arms were replaced with high quality 'Long Arms' with super heavy duty heim joints and improved axle mounting for more caster. These improvements allow for nice steering geometry making this Bronco drive excellent.
Both front & rear axles were rebuilt with new bearings and seals. Since this was originally a Dana 30 front end truck it was upgraded with the Dana 44 front axle to deal with the extra load from the 35" tires and 100 horsepower extra the 5.0 makes over the stock 302.
Inside the Bronco has been heavily upgraded with seat upholstery and carpet from Tom's Bronco Parts. The seats have significantly more adjustment for taller drivers, fully recline and provide whiplash protection. They have excellent support and are weather resistant. Under that super comfortable seating and carpet, the floors have been fully heat & sound insulated for a nice quiet and cool cabin. The tilt steering column is a nice modern touch that give you some adjustment for drivers of nearly any size.
The old factory wiring was tossed and a new Centech system was installed. The new wiring harnesses come with modern fuses and relays capable of expanding your sound system, adding air conditioning, more lighting and more. Not to mention eliminating the fire hazards of 50 year old wiring.
The factory radio was replaced with a vintage looking modern radio with USB hook ups for your phone or I-Pod.
The brakes have been upgraded with Power Front Disc Brakes and heavy duty rear drums. Braking is very nice with little effort and consistent stopping.
The power steering works beautifully with the perfect amount of assist for the street or the trail.
The tires & wheels were upgraded to a 35x12.50" All Terrain tire mounted on 17" rims. These tires work excellent on the Broncos both on and off road. They are quiet as well.
