Here is a beautiful 1971 Chevrolet Corvette 4-Speed Convertible up for grabs. The Curves on these C3 Corvettes are impeccable by design and just flow so well around any backdrop, you just cant get a bad angle any way you look at a C3. The 68-72 Convertibles are the most sought after C3 Corvette because of the Chrome Bumpers and natural curves, and one of the last generations to be called a Stingray. This Corvette is Mulsanne Blue with a paint matched Hardtop as well as a white soft top with Dark Blue Vinyl Interior. The Exterior looks great, but up close you will see some minor imperfections to the body, such as a few paint cracks and typical wear.
The Interior is very presentable, The Seats look great and the carpet looks fresh with matching floormats. The Dash shows no cracks and all the gauges work, However the tach needle is broken but a new needle is included. All the glass is good, but the side door glass does show some fine scratches. The White Soft top is in great shape except for one small tear (see picture) but a paint matched hardtop is also included.
The Engine is a Non-Numbers matching 350ci V8 that runs great and sounds as if a mild cam has been installed at some point. Very responsive with a nice lope at idle, and fires up quickly with no smoke. The Trans shifts smoothly into all the gears with no "Pop outs" and the clutch feels firm. Overall this Corvette drives solid and is ready to go cruising.
The Chassis looks good with no prior undercoating, this way you can see the true condition. The Frame and especially the bird cage area looks good with no visible rust or soft spots. These Corvette's are well known for frame rust so you should always be careful when making such an investment. The Brakes are 4 wheel disc brakes and are covered by original style Corvette Rally rims with all hub caps and trim rings in place. The Tires are 235/60R15 Firestone Firehawk's all with good tread remaining.
As a bonus, Several new in-box parts are included, Including correct screws and fasteners, Proper GM Labels, Quartz Clock Conversion, Spare Tire Lock, Weatherstripping, Misc Trim and other goodies as well. Pictures show the most of it, these are the small items that "Nickel and Dime" any restoration.
This Corvette is ready to go to a good home and be enjoyed immediately while giving the new owner some things to "Tinker" with on the weekends.
