This is one of the best preserved C3 Corvettes we have seen. You are looking at the original paint, interior and drivetrain. The options are quite impressive as well. This is the numbers matching, un-touched 454. This car is mechanically excellent.
The paint is in great condition for a 45 year old Corvette. She is a beauty at 20 feet. Get closer and the imperfections become visible. The typical parting lines on the fiberglass are visible as small lines in the paint. There are numerous small chips and a bit of damage just behind the front nose cone on the passenger side down low. The paint does shine nicely and the car lines up well. If you want a show quality paint, this is not the car for you. The fun and true value in this car are in the 'Patina' of an original car.
Inside the interior is breathtaking for an original. The true care with which this car was treated is evident. What you are seeing is the original born-with interior with the exception of the NOS (front-only) carpet that was installed over 20 years ago. The seats, door panels, dash, etc are all reported to be the originals. They still feel supple and look great. Take a good look at the pictures. This is a very impressive car.
Under the hood the 454 still wears its original VIN stamping that matches the VIN on the car. Only a couple of items have been changed including the carburetor, clutch fan and exhaust manifolds. The original carb and clutch fan are included with the car. The car has received documented oil changes and tune ups at very low mileage intervals. The exhaust was recently replaced with an aluminized system.
The electrical and vacuum system is in good working order. All of the lights, gauges, heater, wipers, headlight doors, etc work nicely. The only component not working correctly is the clock which works sporadically. Even the super-rare rear view mirror map light works!
The air conditioning was serviced recently and converted to R-134. It works nicely and will be truly appreciated in a few months.
The factory T-Tops are in excellent condition with nice soft factory original seals. The channels are clean and the levers work perfectly. The original bags are in the storage area.
The rear storage boxes and trap doors behind the seats are in good condition. They are complete with their tray and even the original jack is in place.
This is by no means a perfect car. It has just over 100k miles. It has the typical Corvette fiberglass blemishes, paint chips and minor bumps & bruises. This is the car for the person who wants to either relive their youth or truly experience what the original cars were like.
