The 6th generation 1973-1979 F-Series Truck (aka Dentside) is arguably one of the most well rounded classic trucks built! Offering timelessly good lines and a tough work ethic, dentsides are increasing in collectability among enthusiasts of all ages. It seems like all of us had a family member with one, we've owned one ourselves, or know of someone that did...and there's always a story to go with it!!
With a variety of flavors offered by Ford during this era - the notorious F250 High Boy may be the class president, but the F150 is perhaps the gym class hero!? The F150 especially with the short bed offers a bit more "nimble" driving experience with friendlier turning radius and smoother ride than their bigger classmates.
This F150 sits in a really nice spot. It's a driver project you can enjoy and put to work hauling things around as the truck was designed. OR, continue the restoration process and take it to the next level. Maybe a daily driver?
Decorated in the classic two-tone paint scheme and Ranger XLT package with race track trim, this truck is the epitome of all that is a dentside! Much of the paint appears to be original and although not completely rust free, the truck is free of major rust in the critical areas. The rust present in the floor boards is very minimal. The cab corners are solid. Drip rails are rust free. Rust in the wheel wells has been addresses to an acceptable driver quality. The bed is in great shape and only has a bit of surface rust.
Turn the key on the 351 motor and it starts right up cold or hot and idles smooth. The clutch operates correctly and it shifts and stops as you would expect for an older truck. The BFG tires have good tread and wrap nicely around the bright US Mags Indy Wheels. Look closer at the engine bay and you will notice the original galvanized coating still resides on the inner fenders.
Open the doors and you're greeted with fresh black carpeting and a newly upholstered seat, which is very comfortable! The headliner is in nice condition and the dash pad and door panels have been replaced with new! This F150 is an original A/C truck, but you will need to source the missing components to bring that "coolness" back to life.
Given this is a '77, the fuel tank is not behind the seat and is between the frame with bed side fuel door eliminating that pesky odor of fuel that was common. Behind the seat there's even a little storage space!
This F150 is ready for you! Please contact us with any additional questions or for additional photos!!
