You might have seen this one on our website last summer. Unfortunately, our customer is no longer able to drive it due to a knee injury and we jumped at the chance to get it back! We will be adding some current pics since the car has seen a couple of improvements since leaving us. Namely, it received new tires and a high end stereo system with a HUGE subwoofer in a stock appearing trunk enclosure. The stock Shaker system components were retained though and are carefully stored in the trunk.

Perhaps not as widely known as the likes of Carrol Shelby - Steve Saleen is an accomplished racer who started working with Ford modifying production mustangs back in 1984 at Saleen Autosport.  Over several decades, Saleen has built an incredible reputation for building specialty vehicles, and this is one of them!

2005 marks the beginning of the fifth generation of mustangs (S-197).  The new body re-sparked the love for mustangs amongst many.  Styling is reminiscent of the 60's and 70's muscle and Saleen took what Ford created and added some spice to not only looks, but performance and functionality.

This Saleen is a naturally aspirated S281 model - car number 213 Of 945 coupes. This car sits in a great place. The Windveil Blue Metallic paint shines beautifully in the sun.  It has been enjoyed over the course of its life but not abused in any way as well as being garage kept.  Miles are low at 53,305 and condition is excellent with only a few minor rock chips.  It's a modern classic collector, but not such a rare breed that you'll be afraid to drive it regularly. 

 

So how does this Saleen compare to a standard Mustang GT?  The front and rear fascias get a complete makeover and the rocker panels are unique. The 4.6-liter V-8 remains internally stock; mods include underdrive accessory pulleys, a remapped engine-management computer (premium fuel required), and a free-flow air filter element.

​

The stock vacuum-actuated bypass valve exhaust system was bypassed with new turn downs for "always on performance."  The stainless exhaust system rumbles in a tone that makes you just want to stomp on the accelerator!  Suspension upgrades over the standard GT include larger anti-roll bars, firmer struts/shocks, revised spring rates and 20" Saleen wheels.

Inside you'll find black leather Saleen sport seats and a modified gauge package, aluminum trimmed pedals, and a short-throw shifter.  S281 floor mats are included and have kept the original carpet in pristine condition.

This mustang runs very well and is incredibly fun to drive with all of the modern conveniences - A/C, cruise, tilt, power windows, power seats and a professionally designed & installed audio system.
