This ’67 is a beautiful example that has been very well equipped for both the boulevard and the open road. It’s no secret that the 1967 is one of, if not the most, popular Pony Cars ever made. Their prices continue to soar ever higher with no signs of faltering. They provide that perfect mix of investment and entertainment.
The body on this GT was stripped to bare metal and repainted in a beautiful coat of 2-Stage Electric Blue. The car is nice & straight with even panel gaps. The trim is mostly restored original with a few reproductions. The Dynacorn short Shelby hood looks great and is a nice accent to the Shelby rear deck lid and end caps. The result is a striking car that gets an incredible amount of attention wherever it goes.
Inside the interior has been upgraded with TMI custom Sport Seat ‘R’ upholstered front seats, a matching blue stitched TMI console and formed custom door panels. The dash has been treated to brushed aluminum panels that trim out the factory tachometer gauge cluster. The dash also houses a custom CD player that powers 4 speakers and a sub-woofer mounted in a custom rear door. All that stereo equipment is powered by an amplifier mounted in the trunk. The interior is a nice, comfortable package that feels great and looks amazing.
Under that gorgeous Shelby scooped hood lives a receipt documented, performance built 390 Big Block. The engine was rebuilt by R&Q Parts & Machine located in Selah, WA. For the rebuild the block was punched .060, Forged Pistons were added to fill the holes, reciprocating assembly was balanced, a Crower Cam with 108’ separation & .547/.549 lift inserted with a double roller timing chain & gears to keep it in time, a pair of Edelbrock Performer RPM Aluminum Cylinder Heads with matching Performer RPM Aluminum Intake and a custom Quick-Fuel Carburetor top the engine off. The engine sounds incredible breathing through FPA Ceramic Coated Tri-Y Headers and Eleanor Side Exhaust. The exhaust note has the perfect amount of crisp header cackle and a big deep base note. You have to hear it to truly experience it. The performance is rather rewarding as well. A simple crack on the throttle can break the big 275’s loose and the car starts to skate ever so slightly. The TKO Tremec Transmission handles the power and shifts like a dream. This is a very fun & rewarding car to experience.
The front suspension has been completely replaced with a kit from Rod & Custom. The system includes a shock tower elimination kit, heavy duty cross-member and a larger front sway bar. The cross-member houses a Power Rack & Pinion that gives a modern crisp & responsive driving experience.
The braking system has been upgraded to 4-Wheel Power Disc Brakes. These brakes work excellent with a nice, light pedal effort and consistent stopping power.
The factory 9” differential has been upgraded with 3.25 ratio gearing and a Yukon Trac-Lok to get the power to the ground.
The wheels are gorgeous Coy’s C67’s in show chrome. They fit nicely and really fill up the wheel wells. The fronts are 17x8 and the rears are 18x9. The rears are wheel well filling 275 40’s.
