This '69 Camaro is a beautiful example, decked out in fresh coat of deep red paint that has been polished to a mirror finish. The panels were professionally installed and line up exceptionally well with nice gaps which are uncommon in the breed. The floors appear to be the originals and are in excellent condition. The quarters were replaced for the repaint and the installation looks like a quality job. The trunk floor is also in excellent condition. New moldings, bumpers & wheels really brighten this one up as well.
The interior is in good condition. The front seats are still the original upholstery which is a testament to how well this car has been treated for the last 53 years. The carpet and much of the rest of the interior has been replaced with quality restoration pieces. The gauges work properly as do the heater and wipers. This one is ready to cruise!
Under the hood the 396 Big Block was reportedly just rebuilt (no receipt docs) and has been upgraded with a Weiand Stealth aluminum intake manifold, electronic ignition, larger camshaft, gear drive and long tube headers. It has an aggressive idle and a slight whine from the gear drive. The engine is backed up by a 6-Speed manual transmission with double overdrive and a 4.10 ratio Posi-Traction 12-Bolt differential. Power is literally everywhere from the stoplight to well beyond any speed limits you may wish to exceed. This is a fun, well balanced driver!
The braking appears to be the stock SS styled power front disc system with rear drum brakes. The front brakes have cross drilled & slotted rotors with fresh calipers and pads. Stops are quick & confident.
The Power Steering is a factory set up and has a nice easy feel with good assist and nice feedback too.
For those of you who love the cowl tag info this one was originally a V8 car (124 VIN), code 69 Cortez Silver with code 711 black standard interior. There are no X codes on this car.
