It's not often you find such a well preserved pickup for the 70's. This '77 is still wearing original FoMoCo custom ordered paint! Obviously there are chips, scratches and imperfections as it is approaching 50 years old. We found this one in Montana where it had been cooling its heals in a collection waiting for a restoration. It sold new in the Denver Ordering District under a special code. With the special color it's looking like it could be a handful specially made for the Air Force. We are looking into this.
The paint has some nice patina where the sun has shined it thin in the Montana heat. There still is some shine, especially on the bed. The body trim is still in place and looks quite nice. Body wise, you would be hard pressed to find a more solid example. The only significant rust is on the passenger rocker/door panel area shown in pics. The rust is quite localized and would be a straight forward repair. Otherwise there a couple minor bubbles, see pics. The floors look great.
Inside, the interior has been treated to new seat upholstery which looks great. The carpet fits well and appears to have been replaced at some point. Door panels show some cracking from age but are still quite presentable. Dash gauges work, lenses are clear and really do look nice. The radio is not wired in.
Under the hood the 351/400M series motor has some upgrades though we are not sure of the displacement. More often the 351's were replaced with the larger 400 when any performance work was done. This engine has been upgraded with an aluminum intake manifold, 4 barrel carburetor, Jacob's Ignition module, long tube headers and a mild performance camshaft. It runs excellent and really does sound nice.
The wheels are factory Ford 15" 5-Slots with new center caps. The tires are brand new 32" x 11.50" M/T's. They fit quite nicely and look great.
The truck has what appears to be an old-school 4" lift. It really puts the truck at the perfect height. The radius arm mountings have been dropped so the caster is proper and the truck tracks nicely down the highway.
Optioned with factory Power Front Disc Brakes and Power Steering this truck is an easy driver.
There are still some areas for improvement on this one leaving the next owner some calls to make in making this one their own. Feel free to give us a call and discuss!
