This Shelby is unlike any other Ford or domestic big 3 motor before it. The 5.2 liter V8 has a flat-plain crank like the Italian exotics. It's factory red-line is 8250 rpm!!! Built for the open canyon roads or road courses these engines sing like nothing else. Making 526 Horsepower at 7500rpm and 429 lb-ft of torque at 4750rpm these engines simply love to rev and the note is unlike any other. At full clip you need a transmission that can keep up and the Tremec 6-Speed transmission does so perfectly. The combination of these two is intoxicating. 

Much like the Boss 302's of 1969/70 these high revving motors have had some issues. They are known for oil consumption in the 'bad' ones. It seems to be they either do from the beginning or they simply don't. This one has good history as a non-consumer and comes with a valuable Ford warranty good to 70k miles just in case.
